Oil Extraction

UMS has introduced a complete plant for extraction of oil from rape seed for the production of cold pressed rape seed oil for energy purposes (in engines, for heating, etc.).

The plant comprises intake, cleaning and weigher controlled dosing at an approximate capacity of 2 tons per hour. After the press, the oil is conveyed to filtration in a Niagara filter and circulated to a bag filter and finally to a cartridge filter from where it is led to storage tanks of e.g. 500 m3 and 100 m3. The plant is controlled by a small PLC.

The plant and process is applicable to other oil seeds and can be modified to production of edible oils.
